Kompetenzzentrum CSCL

Das CSCL Kompetenzzentrum ist ein Kompetenzzentrum am <a href="http://www.ipsi.fraunhofer.de/" target=new>Fraunhofer IPSI</a> - es bündelt und koordiniert die unterschiedlichsten dort verfügbaren Kompetenzen: unter anderem Kommunikationstechnologie (Internet, Videokonferenzen), Wissensmanagement (Digitale Bibliotheken), kooperatives Arbeiten (Prozessunterstützung, Workflow Management), um Synergieeffekte in Gang zu setzen, die im Gebiet des kooperativen verteilten Lernens konvergieren.<p> Die Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen des CSCL Kompetenzzentrum verfügen über langjährige Erfahrung in den Bereichen Hypertext und Hypermedia, kooperatives Verfassen von Hyperdokumenten, Meeting Support Systeme, verteilte kooperative Dokumentverwaltung, Workflow Modellierung, Audio und Video-Conferencing, sowie in der Entwicklung von Basistechnologien und Frameworks zur Erstellung kooperativer Anwendungen. Das CSCL Kompetenzzentrum arbeitet interdisziplinär: Ein Team aus Informatikern, Pädagogen und Psychologen forscht hier gemeinsam an der Entwicklung von Umgebungen zur Unterstützung kooperativen Lernens. Die Mitarbeiter besitzen langjährige Erfahrung in der Zusammenarbeit mit Partnern aus Industrie, Wirtschaft und Verwaltung.<p> Kooperatives verteiltes Lernen ist eine Facette in einem breiten Spektrum computerunterstützen Lernens. Das CSCL Kompetenzzentrum kooperiert deshalb eng mit anderen Institutionen in Darmstadt, deren Kompentenzschwerpunkte wichtige und notwendige Ergänzungen darstellen.<p> <hr> Für das Betrachten dieser Seiten ist ein Frame-fähiger Browser erforderlich.<p> <hr> CSCL stands for "Computer Supported Cooperative Learning". The CSCL Competence Center located in Darmstadt was founded to concentrate Fraunhofer IPSI's research expertise in the field of distributed and cooperative computer supported learning. Life-long learning can now be encountered everywhere. Continuing training is becoming a necessity for everybody. The organisation of continuing training and education as well as the management of large knowledge resources are substantial challenges for all types of organisations. Modern information and communication technology provides innovative potential to support and facilitate learning and knowledge management. Today, the ability to communicate with almost anyone, to exchange knowledge, solve problems, and learn new things via computer networks is widespread. And we now know that learning will have the most lasting effect if performed cooperatively, i.e., if we learn together with others. The Internet allows cooperative learning independent of time and place. Machines intended to support learning have been around for a long time. Also, individual learning with computers is not new. However, learning cooperatively via computer networks poses a new challenge. We at the CSCL Competence Center design and test innovative learning environments for cooperative and distributed learning. We support and advise users from industry, public administration, and research in the planning, realisation and evaluation of tailor-made solutions.
